Micro Needling

If you’re not doing this already, why not!? A completely all natural way to induct collagen. Having been used in the Far East for centuries it fuses the science of Collagen Induction with Holistic Far Eastern Anti-Aging secrets. Through use of extremely fine micro needling rollers a micro injury is caused to the skin, by penetrating the epidermis and then passing into the dermis, inducting collagen naturally in the skin by up to 1000% after a single treatment. It is an effective treatment against wrinkles, skin damage, crow’s feet, lip creases, open pores, pigmentation, sun damage, sagging skin as well as stretch marks, scarring, cellulite and hair loss. It also increases the absorption of the specifically developed serums by up to 10,000 times in a single treatment making them more effective.

The rollers I use are of the highest quality, CE Approved Medical Device and manufactured in strict accordance with EU Medical Device Directive 93/42.

This is an affordable treatment with the added benefit of no down time as it does not require the removal of the epidermis unlike some peels, microdermabrasion and laser treatments which may also cause skin pigmentation anomalies. There are two techniques to administering this particular treatment and I am fully trained in both, one being slightly more aggressive than the other and requiring a topical numbing cream. The results are the same, it’s just a matter of preference and the different techniques can also be alternated. This is not an overnight results treatment as it’s naturally inducting collagen on a very effective level.

To enhance the effectiveness of the micro needling treatment I use an Organic Green Tea Oil which is proven scientifically to rejuvenate skin cells. Green Tea Oil is also an effective anti-inflammatory and anti-redness treatment and can help prevent the degradation of collagen and elastin in the skin. Infused in the Green Tea Oil are potent Chinese herbs which have circulation enhancing properties which work to encourage blood flow to the area, important for effective healing. The Green Tea Oil is suitable for use by Vegans and can be used as part of your daily skincare regime. To further help repair the skin and stimulate collagen and elastin production a 20 minute Red Light Therapy session would be a perfect add-on to this treatment (details can be found under Collagen Induction Therapy).

Other conditions that can be helped by skin needling are:

STRETCH MARKS – or striae are experienced by about 80% of women during pregnancy and are usually permanent. Until recently the treatment of stretchmarks was very difficult. Glucocorticoid hormones prevent the transformation of fibroblasts into both collagen and elastin fibres in the area. Micro Needling increases the production of collagen in the area thus reducing the appearance of striae. As the outer layer of skin is not removed there is no risk of pigmentation loss as with dermabrasion or laser therapy.

SCAR REDUCTION – Traditionally scars have been considered very difficult to treat by dermatologists. The micro needling roller has changed this view and an average improvement in scars is around 70%. This is based on several uses over several weeks.

CELLULITE – The micro needling roller is effective at removing the appearance of cellulite. It causes the skin to thicken, tighten and restore elasticity. It also increases the production of collagen fibres and elastin fibres so improving the appearance of the skin immediately. Unlike other techniques such as skin peels and dermabrasion it does not damage the skin or remove the epidermis making it suitable for all types of skin. As with any treatment for cellulite it is beneficial to exercise and eat well.

HAIR LOSS (male and female) – This treatment is effective on thinning hair as it will encourage new hair growth and help stop further hair loss. If the hair has already been completely lost from the area it will not bring it back. This treatment takes a lot of perseverance from the client. After the first clinic treatment you will be given some of the tools to continue the treatment at home with regular clinic visits for a deeper treatment (the duration of each treatment is approximately 10 minutes). It takes approximately six weeks for new hair follicles to form but it can be up to three to six months before you notice a difference.

Below are genuine photos of one of my clients illustrating the progression of the treatment over a period of six months. As you can see the original hair was quite fine, wispy and greying. As the treatments progress the original hair becomes thicker and healthier due to improved circulation to the area, what is also very noticeable is the return of colour to the hair. Results will vary with each client.
