Facial Acupuncture

Facial Acupuncture is a completely natural, effective, non-surgical cosmetic anti-aging treatment.  This treatment specifically works on the face and neck but also combines an holistic approach of correcting any imbalances in an individual’s general health and stress management.  Based on traditional acupuncture theories you will glow from the inside out, improved sleep, energy, digestion and mood are often other common positive effects.

The treatment involves the insertion of tiny disposable hair fine needles just into the skin at various acupuncture points on the face.  This creates a minor trauma stimulating the repair process, increasing blood flow, which in turn boosts collagen and elastin production, improves cellular regeneration and promotes lymph drainage, all of which have a benefit to the reduction in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, tightens pores and improves skin tone and complexion.

A more concentrated lifting technique can be used to help tighten the jawline and to help with sagging and hollow cheeks.  Specific fine lines can be targeted more directly by using even smaller intradermal needles.  All needles are left in place for 20-40 minutes then removed.

To further boost the results of Facial Acupuncture is a deluxe treatment using 24ct gold needles.  The use of gold in beauty and healing goes back for centuries as it is considered to possess an energy that brings warm, soothing vibrations to the body which promotes rejuvenation and healing.  The anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties of gold decreases cell degeneration and when the body is relaxed and the cells are not as constricted, blood can flow more easily through the tissue spaces.

A course of 10 treatments is recommended at two a week for the first two weeks and one a week for the remaining six weeks, after which a once a month maintenance treatment is recommended.  An improvement is usually seen after 2-4 treatments.  Facial Acupuncture is not surgery so improvements are not instant, this is a natural treatment working with the body.  While the treatment is completely natural with no side effects or downtime required on occasions when a needle is removed there may be the chance of a bleed and a small bruise may appear.

A report in the international Journal of Clinical Acupuncture in 1996, reported that in 300 cases treated with Facial Acupuncture, 90% had marked effects after one course of treatments.  The effects included: the skin becoming more radiant with improved elasticity of facial muscles, levelling of wrinkles and an overall feeling of revitalisation.

You can enhance the benefits of Facial Acupuncture by incorporating any of the following treatments into your skincare regime; Micro Needling and Red LED Light Therapy, both of which also promote collagen induction.  Eastern Facial Massage is a mini workout for the face which softens lines, tightens and tones the facial muscles, improving blood and lymph flow aiding skin renewal.
