You do not have to be an athlete to benefit from a sports massage, most people at some point in their lives suffer from muscular aches and pains. Sports massage incorporates treatment for serious muscle tension, sports, work/environmental strains. Postural assessments and deep tissue massage help to relieve backache, muscular strains and tension, sciatica, RSI, stress headaches, aids in injury rehabilitation, improves flexibility and tone, stimulates blood and lymphatic flow, encourages flushing of toxins and nutrient supply to tissues. Pre-sport massage helps warm and stretch the muscle, reducing stiffness and prepares the muscle for action. Post-sport massage helps relax and stretch the muscle, aids removal of lactic acid and therefore reduces muscle stiffness. However there is no need to have a specific problem, by incorporating some lighter techniques sports massage is also an excellent way to aid relaxation.
Therapeutic massage is wonderfully relaxing. By using a gentle or slightly firmer technique (but not as exact as the sports massage) this massage is specifically aimed at muscle tension and the relief of localised aches and pains. Helps soothe away any headaches, migraines and muscle tightness by warming and stretching the muscles and skin, improving circulation and the flushing of toxins.
